Obituary for Gerard M. Mahoney, Jr.
Gerard Mahoney was a US army veteran and 55 years of age. He lived in Smithtown, NY and passed
away on April 3, 2023 after a battle with colon cancer. Gerard was born on April 12, 1967. He was a
senior director of sales with Nathans Famous. In 2004 he married Jennifer Mahoney at Larkfield Manor.
He was a loving father to 4 children; Elizabeth, Joshua, Caileigh and Megan. He was a wonderful
brother, brother-in-law, uncle, son-in-law, and loyal friend.
Gerard was a regular attendee of Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle. For many years he held a deacon’s
position at The Refuge Christian Fellowship of East Northport. He lived his life in service to others. His
generosity was felt by so many. Some of his many hobbies included skiing, playing softball and hiking.
He enjoyed cooking, hosting parties and spending time with his family. Gerard was an honest man and
kind to all. He invested his time, money and energy into relationships. He had a great sense of humor
and brought joy everywhere he went. He will be gravely missed by all who knew him.
