Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Michael Rosenberg can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Michael Forrest Rosenberg

On February 14th, Michael Rosenberg 33, originally of Rosedale, passed away. Michael lived his entire life with the genetic developmental disorder Fragile X Syndrome. With therapies as a child at HASC and the P.S. 993 system in NYC schools, Michael lived a fairly normal and happy life. Michael loved television, sports, music, food, and even politics! While he spent most of his time indoors, nothing made him happier than a sunny and breezy day. Michael was also fiercely independent, who loved being alone with his computer, his television and his thoughts. Most of all though, he showed his immediate family nothing but unconditional love . He is survived by his mother Anita, who was his 24-hour a day caretaker, his father Jeffrey, who was Michael's best friend and confidante, and his older brother Matthew, who was Michael's constant supporter.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Michael's name be made to the The National Fragile X Foundation.
