Condolence: Phoebe, NO-O-O! I called you today and found out your phones were no longer in service. It struck fear in my heart, my worst fears were realized. I didn't even know you were ill. You passed 2 days after my birthday and I didn't even know.
Thank you for those wonderful times in Cancun and all the fun we had in collage. I'll miss you so much. You were a great friend and we had some wonderful adventures.

Condolence: When my birthday passed without a card from Phoebe with 85 hand-drawn candles (a Phoebe tradition), I realized we hadn't talked in a while. Then Nancy called with the news that she had passed. I am so sorry.

She was Patty's first, and closest, friend in Smithtown. Our lives were intertwined with Phoebe's and Rab's for 45 years. In 1983 we tried to persuade Rab that the Adirondacks were too far away for a vacation home, but after he insisted on buying the "lake house", we trailed along up there numerous times and then bought our own house across the street.

Dinners together, consignment shop forays, game nights with glasses of wine, boating adventures - lots of adventures together. So many memories, mostly happy, but some sad. "Take a zero, bub!" - Phoebe would say over a contested word in the heat of a Scrabble game.

My condolences to the family - I know you all have similar memories to comfort you. We have all lost a dear part of our lives, but Phoebe is at peace.

Condolence: I will miss my long distance Badgers/Packers' fan!! Every year Phoebe! Thanks for the fun times!

Interestingly enough, Grandma Elinore, Phoebe's mother, was also a huge sports fan! :)

Condolence: Brian and I will ALWAYS play for you, Elton John's Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters, Part II, for you! You loved the words and the horns, same as we do! And Spanish Harlem was your favorite part!

When I came to Cancun with you and Rab, I told the sweet boy in the store to refuse to speak to me in English - then Phoebe told him too - and within three days I was speaking Spanish fluently. That is just one of many memories I will always have. You kept telling me that when I left, he was lost. Poor boy. Lo siento!
Te amo Phoebe! Siempre!

Condolence: Auntie Phoebe's favorite story to tell was when I was up visiting at the cabin, and we went down to the beach, and she introduced me to the Pick's as "my favorite niece JUDY!" We laughed forever after over that!

Phoebe, I'm having a Pepsi and keeping the NYT crossword out for you! Oh, and a Chardonnay.

So much love! You will always, always be in my heart! Love to Rab. :)

Condolence: My dear, dear cousin,
I miss you so much already!!
Although we were second cousins, Phoebe was like a sister to me! An outstanding friend and superb cook. I will always remember her legendary Sunday dinners, after which we would read poetry or play Trivial Pursuit. Not to forget Rab's terrific bar-b-ques!
My heart is so heavy...I love you Phoebe!

Condolence: I can’t write Phoebe’s name without including Bob’s. They were a wonderful couple and beautiful, fun loving people. They are now together— a bitter sweet thought.

Richard and I will always cherish the great and thrilling times we shared together: like the thunderstorm over Puerto Rico when the plane almost went down, and the sudden storm in Mexico when our boat almost capsized, and the sheep that blocked the road as we drove up The Wash. Phoebe and Bob have left a void that cannot be put into words. Phoebe we love you and always will.

Condolence: Phoebe was a beautiful soul. She watched my kids grow and treated us all like family. She gave my Husband and I our first home together to raise our children. We will deeply miss her and loved her like she was a member of our family.
